High Resolution Anorectal Manometry

Indications

  1. Approach to constipation refractory to treatment.

  2. Approach to passive and urgency fecal incontinence.

  3. Pre- and post-surgical study in anorectal surgery.

Preparation

  1. Application of a microlax enema 2 hours prior to the study.

  2. Fasting for 4 hours.

Procedure

  1. Left lateral recumbent position

  2. Rectal examination.

  3. Placement of manometry catheter.

  4. Adaptation period.

  5. Recording of basal pressures and after contraction and pushing maneuvers.

  6. Rectal sensitivity test.

  7. Ball expulsion test.

Report and cost

  1. Digital and printed report with the analysis and interpretation of the study according to the London classification.

  2. Cost: 4,500 Mexican pesos.
